Today, an entrance gate leads to an impressive courtyard, framed by a U-shaped outer bailey with the castle at its heart. The history of Kasteel Mheer dates back to the early 14th century. Its blend of architectural styles, unique setting within an iconic landscape, close connection to the picturesque Limburg village of Mheer, and remarkable history together create a place of exceptional character and beauty. The estate, spanning more than 100 hectares, has been in the hands of the de Loë family since 1668 through successive generations of inheritance. Today, the castle is home to the 11th generation: Diederik and Marjolein de Loë. With their authentic bed and breakfast, they are restoring the castle's original tradition of welcoming guests while contributing to the preservation of this remarkable historic monument. The castle offers 10 spacious and comfortable guest rooms, each with its own distinctive character and story. In addition, there are 5 elegant reception rooms, a walled courtyard, and a park featuring magnificent mature trees.
