Ph van Gulpen, Kasteel Mheer

History

A centuries-old family estate in the southernmost part of the Netherlands, just outside Maastricht. It is believed that a Roman house once stood here, where ancient roads crossed. Today, an entrance gate leads to an impressive courtyard, framed by a U-shaped outer bailey with the castle at its heart. The history of the castle dates back to the early 14th century. Its blend of architectural styles, unique setting within an iconic landscape, close connection to the picturesque Limburg village of Mheer, and remarkable history together create a place of exceptional character and beauty. A hidden gem where time seems to have stood still.
